Fundraising Coordinator

We’re looking for a Fundraising Coordinator to take ownership of fundraising initiatives at South Melbourne Districts Football Club and help us grow and improve the way we raise funds for our community.
What you’ll do
Working with our Committee, you’ll:
- Take ownership of our existing fundraising initiatives and identify ways to improve or streamline them
- Develop new fundraising ideas and opportunities
- Build relationships and contacts that could support future fundraising
- Respond to ideas suggested by players, volunteers and other members of our club community
- Develop approved ideas into practical fundraising initiatives
- Coordinate and deliver fundraising campaigns, activities and events
- Track the success of initiatives and help identify what we should continue, change or grow.
We want someone who is happy to take initiative. Once an idea has Committee approval, you’ll be trusted to run with it, with support from other club volunteers where needed.
Why this role matters
As a community football club, fundraising plays an important role in keeping participation as accessible as possible. The costs of running a football club continue to rise, including umpiring fees, uniforms, equipment, clubroom and facility hire and other operational expenses. Without fundraising, more of these costs need to be passed directly onto our players through registration fees and the cost of club events — something we aim to minimise wherever possible.
Effective fundraising allows us to provide a great experience for our players and wider community while keeping the financial cost of being involved in community sport as affordable as we can.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in fundraising, events, community development, marketing or not-for-profit work to gain practical experience and take genuine ownership of projects from idea through to delivery.
You’ll have plenty of scope to bring your own ideas, build new connections and see the direct impact of your work. You’ll also become part of the South Melbourne Districts community, with opportunities to
