South Melbourne Districts Senior Football Club

South Melbourne Districts Football Club is a community-focused Australian Rules football club based in Albert Park, competing in the VAFA. In 2026, we fielded one Senior Women’s team, three Senior Men’s teams and an Under 19s Men’s team. We are proud of our connection to the history of South Melbourne Football Club and our ongoing ties to the Sydney Swans. We often describe ourselves as a country footy club in the heart of the city. Many of our players come to us from outside the local area, so we aim to provide more than just a place to play football. We want our club to be a community that wraps around our players, volunteers and supporters both on and off the field, and a place where people from all backgrounds feel welcome and connected. Like many community sporting clubs, we rely on volunteers to make what we do possible. We’re looking to grow our volunteer team, share the load currently carried by our dedicated long-term volunteers, and welcome people who can bring new skills, experience and ideas to the club. Our volunteer opportunities are a chance to gain practical experience, contribute your existing expertise, build skills and connections, and become part of a supportive sporting community — with absolutely no requirement to play football. Alongside our advertised roles, we’re always open to new ideas.
