Last Litter Program Coordinator (Remote)
About us
Bowen Collinsville Pet Rescue Inc is a foster based animal rescue supporting animals across the Whitsundays, Bowen, Collinsville, Ayr and surrounding areas. We don't have a shelter. Instead, our foster carers and volunteers work together to get animals out of the pound, into safe foster homes and eventually into loving forever families.
About the role
We want to get our Last Litter Program off the ground, and we're looking for someone who would love to take it on as their own.
Every year we see litters of puppies and kittens that could have been prevented. The Last Litter Program works with owners to have mother animals desexed, while our rescue helps find the right homes for that final litter. It's a simple idea that stops the cycle at the source.
This role is 100% remote, so you can make a real difference in regional Queensland from anywhere in Australia.
What you'll be doing
- Helping develop and launch the program
- Responding to enquiries from owners and the community
- Coordinating applications and participants
- Liaising with vets, owners and our rescue volunteers
- Keeping records and following up on desexing requirements
- Helping promote the program in the community
- Being the main point of contact for the program
What we're looking for
- Someone organised who loves seeing a project through from start to finish
- Friendly, clear communication by phone, email and message
- Comfortable keeping simple records and following up
- A love for animals and a belief that prevention is the best form of rescue
Rescue or animal welfare experience is helpful but not essential. Reliability and heart matter most.
Why volunteer with us
- Work from home on your own schedule
- Take ownership of a program and shape it from the ground up
- Be backed by an established rescue team who will support you
- Gain experience in program coordination, community engagement and animal welfare that you can add to your resume
- Join a warm, passionate team who care deeply about every animal
The impact you'll make
One desexed mother means no more unwanted litters from her, ever. Every family you help through this program means fewer animals ending up in the pound and fewer lives at risk. You'll be helping solve the problem at its root, not just responding to it.
How to apply
Apply with a little about yourself, where you're based and how much time you could realistically offer each week. We'll be in touch for a friendly chat.
