Pets Domain Ayr Event Coordinator
About us
Bowen Collinsville Pet Rescue Inc is a foster based animal rescue supporting animals across the Whitsundays, Bowen, Collinsville, Ayr and surrounding areas. We don't have a shelter. Instead, our foster carers and volunteers work together to get animals out of the pound, into safe foster homes and eventually into loving forever families.
About the role
Our adoption days at Pets Domain Ayr are one of the best ways for our foster animals to meet their future families face to face. We're looking for someone local to take the lead on coordinating these events from start to finish.
This isn't just helping set up on the day. You'll be the person who brings it all together, making sure the right animals, carers and volunteers are in the right place at the right time.
What you'll be doing
• Liaising with our rescue team and the Pets Domain Ayr store
• Coordinating which foster animals will attend each event
• Communicating with foster carers about event details
• Organising volunteers and confirming who's attending
• Coordinating setup and pack down on the day
• Helping promote upcoming events
• Making sure everyone knows where they need to be and when
What we're looking for
• Someone based in Ayr or the Burdekin area
• Organised and reliable, with a knack for keeping plans on track
• Confident communicating with different people, from store staff to foster carers
• Comfortable being the go to person on event days
• A love for animals and a desire to see them find their families
Rescue or event experience is helpful but not essential. Reliability and heart matter most.
Why volunteer with us
• Take ownership of a key part of our rescue in your own community
• Be backed by an established rescue team who will support you
• Gain experience in event coordination, communication and team leadership that you can add to your resume
• Meet fellow animal lovers in the Burdekin
• Be there for the moment a foster animal meets their new family
The impact you'll make
Adoption days give our animals a chance to show their personalities in person, and that's often what makes someone fall in love. Every well run event means more animals seen, more adoptions and more space in foster homes for the next animal waiting in the pound.
How to apply
Apply with a little about yourself, where you're based and how much time you could realistically offer. We'll be in touch for a friendly chat.
