Dog Rescue Team Volunteer
About us
Bowen Collinsville Pet Rescue Inc is a foster based animal rescue supporting animals across the Whitsundays, Bowen, Collinsville, Ayr and surrounding areas. We don't have a shelter. Instead, our foster carers and volunteers work together to get animals out of the pound, into safe foster homes and eventually into loving forever families.
About the role
Behind every dog that finds their forever home, there's a team making it happen. We need extra hands to support our dog rescue team with the everyday jobs that keep the rescue moving.
You don't need to do everything! We're looking for dependable people who can take responsibility for particular tasks and become a valued part of the team. We'll match what you do to your skills and availability.
What you could be doing
- Contacting and supporting our foster carers
- Following up on foster dogs and gathering updates
- Helping organise meet and greets and adoptions
- Coordinating transport for dogs
- Assisting with vet appointments and other practical tasks
- Updating information and helping with general rescue admin
What we're looking for
- Someone based in the Whitsundays, Bowen, Ayr or surrounding areas
- Reliable and happy to take ownership of the tasks you pick up
- Friendly communication with foster carers, adopters and the team
- A current driver's licence and car is a bonus for transport and vet runs
- A soft spot for dogs of all shapes, sizes and stories
Rescue experience is helpful but not essential. Reliability and heart matter most.
Why volunteer with us
- Flexible tasks that fit around your life
- Be backed by an established rescue team who will support you
- Gain experience in animal care, coordination and communication that you can add to your resume
- Meet fellow dog lovers in your local community
- See the dogs you've helped go from the pound to their forever homes
The impact you'll make
Every phone call, vet run and foster check in keeps a dog's journey moving. The more hands we have, the faster we can get dogs out of the pound, settled in foster care and matched with families who will love them for life. Your time means more dogs saved.
How to apply
Apply with a little about yourself, where you're based and how much time you could realistically offer. Let us know which tasks you'd be most interested in, and we'll be in touch for a friendly chat.
