Meal Organiser and Despatcher (Mondays & Thursdays) - Mitchelton

Caring Cuisine plays a vital role enabling older Australians to enjoy living independently in the familiar surroundings and comfort of their own home.

As a not-for-profit charity, in order to support our clients we rely on a large team of volunteers to deliver meals and conduct welfare checks. Chatting for a few minutes whilst delivering healthy fresh food helps cut through social isolation and provides peace of minds to clients and their loved ones.

As a Volunteer Meal Dispatcher you will attend our Mitchelton branch by 10am on a weekday to help organise materials and meals so our delivery drivers can be organised and prepared to deliver meals to clients. Once drivers arrive you will help pack the meals into their cars, and when they return help by organising, packing and cleaning all the bags and associated delivery materials. Meal Dispatchers are packed up and ready to leave by 1pm.

We operate Monday - Friday and are currently seeking one or two despatchers to fill 10am - 1pm shifts, weekly on Mondays and/or Thursdays. There may also be opportunities for additional shifts on other days, on an ad-hoc basis, when other volunteers area away. On-the shift training is provided by our Volunteer Coordinator and other experienced volunteers.

To succeed in this rewarding role all you need is the ability to lift & carry our food delivery bags and a friendly disposition to meet and greet fellow team members and our volunteer drivers!
