Help bring our footy community together!

South Melbourne Districts Football Club is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Social Events Team and help plan, organise and deliver our club’s social calendar.

We’re a community football club based in Albert Park, and our social events are a huge part of what makes our club special. From bringing our members together to raising vital funds, these events help keep our club connected both on and off the field.

We’re looking for multiple volunteers to share the workload, contribute ideas and help make our events a success. We’re also seeking someone interested in taking on a Social Events Team Leader role, working closely with and reporting to our club committee.

What you’ll be doing

Working alongside other volunteers, you’ll help with:

  • Planning and coordinating our annual social events, including Presentation Night, Trivia Night and our Bloody Good Draw.
  • Brainstorming new events and activities to keep our social calendar fresh and engaging.
  • Liaising with venues, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinating event logistics, including activities, setup, pack-down and volunteer support.
  • Working within our community club’s budget and identifying opportunities for partnerships and fundraising.
  • Collaborating with our committee and other volunteers to ensure events run smoothly.

You won’t be expected to do everything yourself! This is a team effort, with responsibilities shared according to everyone’s availability, interests and skills.

Who we’re looking for

You don’t need previous event management experience! We’d love to hear from people who are:

  • Organised, reliable and enjoy working with others.
  • Creative and keen to contribute ideas.
  • Interested in events, marketing, fundraising or community engagement.
  • Comfortable communicating with different people and coordinating activities.
  • Passionate about supporting a local community organisation.

Whether you’re looking to gain practical experience, build your skills or simply get involved in a great community, we’d love to hear from you.
