    Heart Foundation Walking is Australia’s largest FREE walking network. It is a social, fun and easy way for people to walk and be active. Walk Organisers are community members who volunteer to lead their walking group in their neighbourhood or workplace. They do not need to be health professionals or have specific health or physical activity qualifications. They will receive training and support from their Local Coordinator and the Heart Foundation.

    The Atlas Moth has been found to reside in small populations around Darwin. Due to habitat destruction, numbers have decreased over time and Conservation Volunteers are working to restore important habitat sites. This project will include activities such as removing invasive plant species, photo point surveys and GPS mapping, planting food trees and general conservation tasks.

  5. Twilight Toadbusting in Darwin

    By supporting the Frogwatch/Biowatch organisation, we aim to help reduce and control numbers of Cane Toads in the Top End. After an informative identification session we will head out to targeted breeding sites including Lee Point, East Point, Botanical Gardens and Golflinks to collect Cane Toads ready for humane disposal.   6. Birds of the Top End in Darwin

    You will have the opportunity to visit and learn about the wildlife that resides in one of Darwin's iconic Conservation Reserves. Fogg Dam provides an important food source and habitat to over 200 local and migratory bird species. Conservation Volunteers have been collecting baseline data from this lagoon of a set species list for almost two years.

    Darwin has a variety of unique and beautiful beaches. A new location will be surveyed each week for Marine Debris which is then sorted and catalogued on the day, adding to a national database.
