We are looking for long term volunteers that are compassionate, friendly individuals who can assist seniors with basic phone and IT issues. We have found that at times this role can evolve into much needed social connection for our participants as well as IT support.
Mercy Connect engages trained volunteers, with an educational background, to provide additional support and mentoring to asylum seeker, refugee, humanitarian visa students at a critical time in their settlement in Australia. Families from asylum seeker, refugee and/or humanitarian backgrounds are supported through improving their children’s capacity to negotiate the challenges of mainstream schooling and integrate into the wider Australian community.
The Coordinator will commence as a dog reading team volunteer and after two school terms receive training to take on the Coordinator position. The Coordinator will recruit, train, support, manage and give recognition to volunteers within the region. The position will also raise awareness of the Story Dogs brand and services. This is a non paid, volunteer role. This role requires you to have a suitable dog.
MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Peer Support Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Repair Lab Melville is a community event run by volunteers who use their skills to help people repair items that would otherwise be discarded and sent to landfill.
