Cairns FM89.1 are seeking a responsible person for our Reception area. The time required would be 3 hours per day 8.30am to 11.30am, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays). A friendly demeanour with good communication skills required.
General training is once a fortnight which involves everything needed to know on search, rescue to enhance skills. Commitment to attending training both fortnightly and over a weekend is a requirement. Able to work in a team and a able to commit to courses. When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community cope from the impact a disaster. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.
SteamRanger Heritage Railway has two volunteer cleaner positions, one for its railway station at Goolwa and the other for its railway station and a cottage at Victor Harbor. The role involves washing/vacuuming floors, dusting, cleaning windows and toilet facilities. The role is a developing one and the cleaning may be undertaken by one volunteer who would be welcome to travel by train between the two locations.
