Friends of Point Peron is a small group of caring local volunteers who are helping Parks and Wildlife staff look after Cape Peron following the dumping of the Mangles Bay Marina on planning, not environmental, grounds. We grow seedlings from local native seed, plant them and tend them and deal with weeds. We'd love to have your help as often as you are free.
Coastal Dry Tropics Landcare is a not-for-profit community group, dedicated to conservation and re-vegetation activities in the Townsville region. Your gardening experience, or your willingness to learn new gardening skills, will be greatly appreciated in this role. You'll be working outdoors in a beautiful setting: planting, weeding, pruning and mulching as well as other garden related activities. Days and hours are negotiable to suit your schedule. The role requires a current Criminal Record Check and would prefer a current Working with Children Check.
