Established in 1986 and located on the south bank of Ross Creek, the Maritime Museum of Townsville conserves North Queensland's maritime heritage through collections of objects and information and interprets these collections and this information through exhibitions and public programs for the benefit of patrons, sponsors, visitors and the local community. As a not-for-profit organisation, the Museum relies on its volunteers to operate effectively and efficiently.
