Australian Council on Children and the Media

Logo for Australian Council on Children and the Media

ACCM, trading as Children and Media Australia, is an organisation that is passionate about supporting families to create a positive screen habits for their children. Children have a right to access beneficial and entertaining content, and to be protected from violence, promotions for unhealthy products like gambling, and invasion of their privacy through data collection practices. We support children's enjoyment of that right through our content reviews, empowering families who don't have the time to hunt out the best content from the mass of what is available. Our award-winning reviews are written by child development experts, and give age-based recommendations, driven by the latest research. We are also an evidence-based voice for children's rights as media users whenever there is a review or inquiry that touches on any of the matters within our brief. Our message is always that laws, policies and codes of practice should take children's healthy development seriously.
