The Mareeba Heritage Museum & Visitor Information Centre is a not-for-profit, community-focused organisation located in the heart of Mareeba. Combining a heritage museum, accredited Visitor Information Centre, Savannah Cafe and gift shop, the Centre provides a welcoming hub for locals and visitors while preserving and sharing the diverse history of Mareeba and the surrounding region. Our museum features more than 6,000 items across 53 exhibits, showcasing the regions rich agricultural, mining, multicultural and social history. Our Visitor Information Centre helps travelers discover Mareeba and the wider region by providing local knowledge, itinerary advice, accommodation and our tour information. Volunteers are at the heart of our organisation and contribute across many areas, including visitor services, museum reception, tourism information, events, collections and exhibitions, gardening, maintenance, administration, marketing and retail and community activities.
