Want to represent Western Sydney in the rooms where decisions are shaped?

The Greater Western Sydney Advocacy Network (GWSAN) is building a small group of Community Ambassadors to represent the region in public settings — from industry events and community forums to speaking opportunities and media content.

This is a public-facing role suited to individuals who are comfortable being visible, engaging with others, and contributing to conversations that shape housing, infrastructure, and community outcomes across Greater Western Sydney.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Attending events across Greater Western Sydney (approx. 1–2 per month)
  • Engaging with stakeholders and introducing GWSAN where appropriate
  • Representing GWSAN in discussions relating to housing, planning, and social outcomes
  • Sharing key insights or feedback from events
  • Participating in GWSAN content (e.g. social media, videos, interviews) where relevant

We’re looking for people who:

  • Are comfortable speaking with new people and representing an organisation
  • Have an interest in housing, planning, infrastructure, or social issues
  • Are reliable and able to follow through on commitments
  • Are keen to build networks and contribute to meaningful change

We welcome expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who reflect the diversity of Greater Western Sydney — including young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from multicultural and culturally diverse communities, people with disability, and those with lived experience of the issues we advocate for — however, this is not limited to these groups.

What you’ll gain:

  • Exposure to industry and policy conversations shaping Western Sydney
  • Opportunities to build your professional profile and networks
  • Experience in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and public communication
  • Support and guidance from the GWSAN team

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing advocacy movement and help ensure Western Sydney voices are represented in the conversations that matter.
