About the role
Mingary Care Op Shops help raise the funds that make Mingary Care’s work possible.
As an Op Shop Customer Service Assistant, you’ll help with the day-to-day running of one of our shops. This is a friendly, customer-facing role for someone who enjoys helping people, working as part of a team and keeping the shop welcoming and well-presented.
This role may include
- Welcoming customers and helping them in the shop
- Putting sales through the register, if trained and comfortable
- Assisting with till float and end-of-day till procedures, if trained and authorised
- Answering basic customer questions
- Keeping racks, shelves and displays dusted and tidy
- Restocking items on the shop floor
- Helping with pricing or tagging, if trained
- Keeping the counter and shop areas clean and organised
- Helping create a friendly, positive shop experience
- Letting the Shop Manager or shop lead know about any issues, hazards or customer concerns

Things to be aware of
This role may involve standing, light lifting, moving around the shop, talking with customers and working during busy periods. Duties can be adjusted where possible to suit what the volunteer can safely do.
