The amount of time spent driving will vary depending on collections, deliveries, shop needs and demand. Some shifts may include several runs; other shifts may include more loading, unloading, moving stock or practical shop support between driving tasks.

Things to be aware of

This is a physical, hands-on role that may involve driving, lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, working with another person, and visiting donor or customer locations. The amount of time spent on the road will vary from shift to shift.

You’ll be representing Mingary Care while you’re out in the community, so warmth, respect and courtesy matter just as much as helping hands. You’ll be shown safe ways to help and should only do tasks you can safely manage. If something feels heavy, awkward or unsafe, please ask for help. For everyone’s safety, drivers must not drive if they are unfit or unsafe to do so.

If you enjoy practical work, local trips, and helping keep our Op Shops moving, this is a valued hands-on role that supports Mingary Care’s work.
