Eyes of Hope provides free eye checks and free glasses to homeless and vulnerable individuals in Sydney. Optical Dispensers are being sought to deliver a much needed service to an underserved community. Clinics are delivered through our community partners, Ozharvest Community Hub in Waterloo and Kirketon Road Centre in Darlinghurst.

We are seeking a handyperson to join our maintenance team. In particular we are looking for someone who will keep the front lawns mowed for our visitors and cafe patrons to enjoy. You will also be required to perform basic repairs, preventative maintenance and maintain the grounds as necessary. ***To be referred to this role an interview with Volunteering Central Coast is required. You will be contacted soon to arrange a mutually convenient time and place. ***
To bring joy and social connection to an older person by visiting them in their own homes - in Gordon LGA. You may be able go for a short walk together, go to a cafe or stay indoors for a cuppa and a chat. Approximately an hour a week or fortnight at a time to suit both of you. Your excellent customer service skills are sought to assist with shop presentation, upkeep and merchandising in this second-hand clothing, bric-a-brac and other goods shop. Your maturity and attention to detail would be highly regarded in this role. This is an active role so your fitness and general good health are required.
The purpose of the Regional Advisory Committees is to advise and assist the Board and Senior Management Team of the Service on matters relevant to the local region. The Committees help to ensure the Service’s strategic direction and partnerships continue to serve the community’s best interests. Committee members work in a voluntary/unpaid capacity.
Volunteer with this Service and provide a support person role for people with cognitive impairment at courthouses, police stations, lawyer’s offices and prisons. Volunteers ensure that criminal justice processes and language are explained clearly and that the client’s wishes and decisions are respected. Your strong communication skills and the ability to relate to and interact well with others will be highly regarded. Basic computer skills are required for this role.

Our Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme is about bringing joy to the life of an older person who may be lonely and socially isolated in their community. We are seeking visitors for people living in their own home or an aged care facility. We match the volunteer and resident based on mutual interest and geographical location.
Looking for people interested in gardening to assist with maintenance and generation of a Bush Tucker garden. Cultivating edible plants indigenous to the wetlands. Must like working outdoors, in all seasons.
Your friendly personality and excellent driving record are required for this role. Drive our 12-seater Sprinter bus to collect in the morning and drop off in the afternoon clients attending our day centre. You will be accompanied by a staff member but will be required to assist to place walkers on to the bus and make them secure. Some activities will be for a full day from 8am – 4pm, while others may involve attending local events and attractions.
Your gardening experience, or your willingness to learn new gardening skills, will be greatly appreciated in this role. You'll be working outdoors in a beautiful setting: planting, weeding, pruning and mulching as well as other garden related activities. Days and hours are negotiable to suit your schedule. The role requires a current Criminal Record Check and would prefer a current Working with Children Check.
A low stress role in the company of other volunteers, where, once a week, you would help make sure the kitchen and fridge are clean, do a bit of tidying, light dusting and wiping over library shelves. This role would suit someone who has an interest in conservation, who wants to meet new people and enjoy their company.
Use your knowledge of the natural environment and research skills to develop a series of environmental education activities. Activities are designed to enable participants to safely investigate social history and explore the wetlands flora and fauna of one of the Hunters most significant biodiversity centers. Full access to the resources of the organisation will be provided to support the development of easily reproduced and copied materials.
Enjoy a walk and a chat as you stroll along the shoreline of Ash Island picking up small items of litter. You'll use a grab stick and bag to pick up small items, mostly plastic, to ensure they don't enter waterways threatening wildlife, and help improve the visual appeal of the landscape. At the end of the shift, you'll enter the data into the computer, with help provided if needed, to record types of litter collected. This is part of a Citizen Science project.
