About us Braille House's mission has not changed in 125 years (Braille House began in 1897) "To provide Braille tuition and reading material to empower people who are blind or who have low vision to live with dignity and independence". Braille House also runs regular Braille Awareness Shows in libraries, schools and other community spaces to inform and educate the general public about braille and how it helps people with vision loss to read.
