Are you a Doctor, Nurse or Paramedic looking to support Young People Living with Cancer? Canteen relies on the assistance and support of our volunteers to help us deliver our programs for young people. We can’t run our programs without our generous volunteers. Our volunteers provide support, administer medication and first aid, participate in and help run activities and most importantly have fun in the process!

We are looking for beauty demonstrators who are comfortable presenting to a small group of participants to help our participants face their cancer diagnosis with confidence. Our volunteers present skincare, makeup and head-wear workshops in Launceston, TAS. If you are comfortable presenting to our participants and love to help others, we need you! Look Good Feel Better is a free national community service program run by the Cancer Patients Foundation.
The Macular Disease Foundation of Australia (MDFA) is the national peak body representing the macular disease community. Our four pillars of work include: prevention and early detection, supporting the community to live optimally with macular conditions, systemic advocacy and research. There are an estimated 1.4m Australians with some evidence of age-related macular degeneration, which is the most common macular disease.
MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

Are you available to help a member of our community by assisting them do their gardening? Assisted Gardening volunteers are essential to our service delivery. These volunteers provide support to our clients while doing their gardening. Assisted Gardening may involve carrying out gardening with our client in their garden. This may be pruning, planting, hand weeding, mulching, and watering with our client, as well as exploring any other gardening task that may require assistance with.
