Volunteer Marine Rescue members serve their respective communities on a voluntary basis by undertaking both operational and non-operational roles. VMRS groups work in close liaison with the Western Australia Police, coordinating and performing a range of marine rescue activities for the WA community. Volunteers are trained and equipped to carry out a range of activities such as: Undertaking the role of Skipper or Crew on a dedicated marine rescue vessel. Operating local marine radio services

The Darling Range Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade Communications work at the control centre of a fire or search manning the radios, tracking firies, mapping fire shapes, and providing specialised support to the Incident Management Team (IMT).
Albany Sea Rescue are looking for volunteers to operate a 2 way radio and computer to talk to mariners who call in when going fishing. They operate 24 hours/7 days per week, with 3 shifts per day. Training will be provided. Will need to sit and pass a National Radio Competency exam.
