Maroondah Winter Shelter provides a safe and warm place for homeless males to stay overnight during the winter months, 7 nights per week. Home cooked meals are provided. Facilitation of a weekly in-person peer support group for separated dads. This support is provided by the 'Dads in Distress' program of national suicide prevention charity, 'Parents Beyond Breakup'. Each group established is estimated to prevent 5-8 suicides in their local community each year. Thats around 7-16 kids that get to keep their dads around locally, every year.
