Pets for Life Volunteers provide practical support as guided by the owner in the care of their companion animal. The role is two-fold in that while assisting to maintain the animal’s welfare, volunteers will also be interacting with and become a support/contact for the older person. Isolation of the older person will be dramatically reduced through the volunteer visits and interaction around the animal’s care.
Community Engagement Volunteers are current owners or carers of GAP greyhounds. They promote the work of the Greyhound Adoption Program (GAP) and Greyhounds as great family pets, at various industry and community events throughout the year, and across the state.

This position does not have direct contact with possums but rather supports providing a caring environment. Daily hands-on involvement with possum cages and the surrounding environment. This is an essential role which ensures our cats and kittens are kept healthy & comfortable. Working as part of our friendly team you will find yourself cleaning the cat suites, washing food bowls, scoops and litter trays and sweeping and mopping the floors. When we have taken care of our cats' needs, there’s always time to socialize with them. This is enjoyable for us but also essential for the cats. The more adjusted they are to humans, the better their chances of getting adopted.
