HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly guests joining us at one of our Social Clubs or staying at our short stay Respite Cottages. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be a Christian actively involved with a local Christian church in Gosford and surrounding regions.
Assist and be part of a team to support a small group of children 8 - 12 years of age with their homework once weekly on Tuesdays after school from 3.30 - 5.00 pm. This is more a support than a tutoring role; therefore, no experience or level of education is required. The sessions will always close with a fun activity for the children. The role is not necessarily a weekly commitment; a roster system is available.
Do you speak Italian - we would love to meet you! At MiCare, we don't want anybody to be lonely. We are looking for female volunteer who can speak Italian to spend some quality time with an elderly lady who lives in Avondale Heights. Your visit may be spent reminiscing about the good old days and family, celebrating Italian festivities while sitting around having a cuppa or enjoying a leisurely activity like going for a short walk, do a puzzle, read Italian stories etc.
