Eyes of Hope provides free eye checks and free glasses to homeless and vulnerable individuals in Sydney. Optical Dispensers are being sought to deliver a much needed service to an underserved community. Clinics are delivered through our community partners, Ozharvest Community Hub in Waterloo and Kirketon Road Centre in Darlinghurst.
A volunteer is needed for our community café to help with preparing the beverages using a commercial barista espresso machine along with order taking, serving and set up/clearing up. Maroondah Winter Shelter provides a safe and warm place for homeless males to stay overnight during the winter months, 7 nights per week. Home cooked meals are provided. As a volunteer you would be making a difference to the lives of those who have been sleeping rough. Being able to listen, show care and treat our guests with dignity and compassion is what we ask for.
Can you help to heat up meals, serve meals or do dishes? Chat with guests and share a meal with them. Our guests are isolated or financially disadvantaged people who need some extra support with meals and being with community.
