Garbologists and Nature Tidiers

  • Location: Curra QLD, Beerwah QLD
  • Category: Environment & Conservation

The Awakening Festival has a policy of Zero waste and we will strive very heavily to achieve this, but unfortunately not everyone is as passionate about that as us, so we will need people to help us keep the grounds tidy and well kept, and assist others to know what should be put where, ie recycle, compostable, trash etc. The people will also be in charge of making sure that people don't run out of some of life's essentials like toilet paper.

Come fly with me! (Eastern Curlew wetland rehabilitation)

  • Location: Kurnell NSW
  • Category: Environment & Conservation

This new and exciting project is here to help restore the significant resting habitat of the critically endangered Eastern Curlew migratory shore bird which make their way to the eastern shores of Australia from the arctic circle. On this epic journey, these birds face risks from increasing pressures and we are here to give them a helping hand.

Saving the iconic Nielsen Park She-Oak

  • Location: Vaucluse NSW
  • Category: Environment & Conservation

Nielsen Park in Sydney's eastern suburbs is home to one of the rarest tress of Sydney. In fact, it's only known location is in Neilson Park itself, which runs alongside the heritage listed Greycliffe house and borders the iconic Sydney Harbour and Shark Beach. Working in conjunction with National Parks and Wildlife, we are helping to reduce the number of threats this unique plant faces.

Malabar Headland - Where Conservation Meets History

Malabar Headland is a spectacular coastal setting with views of dramatic sandstone cliffs, and beautiful coastal bushland.
