When a natural disaster strikes or an emergency situation arises, DFES’s State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers can be found providing a wide range of volunteer services to help the community cope from the impact a disaster. This involves providing emergency repairs on buildings, to restoration of essential services and ferrying cargo and passengers across flood waters. Helping the community to recover by responding to natural disasters is only part of SES’ responsibility.

The Community Meal Program provides a vital lifeline for more than 80 marginalised people offering them a nutritious three-course, hot meal. The service aims to assist people who are experiencing disadvantage, many of whom face the challenges of social isolation.
Overall running and managing our canteen on Saturday mornings throughout October to March, also 5 Friday night twilight meets. Stocking of the canteen stores, preparation of hot and cold food options. Coffee making, bacon and egg burgers, chips, hamburgers, hotdogs, pies, sandwiches, wraps, muffins etc, serving at counter, handling money, set up and cleaning of work area each week. We would roster help on through our parents to assist with preparation and service.
This cycling club organises bike related events such as group rides and racing. In this position you will be using Stop/Slow bats to control traffic and help with the erection and take-down of tents. Full training will be provided.
