City Beach Guides are seeking women to become Girl Guide Leaders at their Unit. The Unit meets for 1.75 hours on Monday afternoons during school term from 4.30pm to 6.15pm and caters for girls between the ages of 5 and 10. Girl Guide Leaders are role models that provide support to young girls to help them discover their potential as young leaders of their world. This is one of the most rewarding and fun volunteering jobs around!

Want to help people living with vision loss? Macular degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in Australians and we are after someone to help run support groups for people living with macular degeneration! Group meetings are held at the Willagee Community Centre.
MDFA's Peer Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.
Do you have time during the week to drive people to and from appointments while providing a reassuring smile and friendly conversation? We are looking for volunteers to provide a safe, reliable and caring transport for our community members. You could make a huge impact to the lives of others by helping residents with transport to and from their medical and therapy appointments. The Coordinator will commence as a dog reading team volunteer and after two school terms receive training to take on the Coordinator position. This 83 year old Scottish gentleman, who was a Maintenance Engineer, would love to make a new friend and have someone to talk to, just a chat and a friendly face. He enjoyed playing soccer and golf and listening to Country and Western music. If you would appreciate sharing a cuppa in the cafe, walk in the garden or listening to music with this man, we would love to hear from you! The day and time can be flexible around you – all we ask for is a weekly visit!
This 86 year old former milkman who loves the music of Johnny Cash and Elvis, would benefit from some one on one conversation while sharing a cuppa in the aged care facility where he is living. Experience with visual impairment and/or intellectual disability would be helpful. A six month commitment would be preferred as he has recently lost his Volunteer Visitor. The day and time of your visiting can be flexible around you-all we ask for is an hour in your week.
