Karitane has an exciting opportunity in the Volunteer Family Connect program Shellharbour. This role would support new parents to their role as parents, support the wellbeing and development of children and bring an understanding of the challenges of parenting and support parents to find their own solutions
Assist the local community club become aware of the types of Grants available and apply for the Grants on their behalf. Collate all information for future reference.
Sydney Heritage Fleet owns world-famous barque James Craig a fully rigged iron ship built 1874. From a rusted skeletal hulk in Recherche Bay Tasmania, she has been completely rebuilt by the volunteers at Sydney Heritage Fleet and now makes harbour and ocean voyages for the public often setting all of her 21 sails. Keeping her seaworthy needs constant attention , to paintwork, woodwork, rigging and deck caulking. We need you to join the happy team who carry out this work regularly on the ship.
We need YOU! We are in need of some bloody brilliant volunteers for our flagship fundraising event The Bloody Long Walk national series: a 35km walk in Newcastle (from Redhead Beach to Foreshore Park) on Sunday 25 August 2024.

Sydney Heritage Fleet is a volunteer organisation preserving, restoring and operating vessels representing Australia's maritime history. They include Tall Ship James Craig, ferry Kanangra, steamship John Oxley, 1902 steam tug Waratah, 1902 VIP launch Lady Hopetoun, 1903 schooner Boomerang and some motor launches. Join a successful team, consisting of 7 Grant Writers and System Administrator.
The Sydney Heritage Fleet Workshops in Rozelle Bay is a busy hive of activity. Our main restoration project is steamer John Oxley, and there are many regularly used vessels on which maintenance is essential. You will find yourself in a very happy friendly work environment where there are no cliques or feuds or jealousies. Just the keen desire to have the joy of having a productive day.
Sydney Heritage Fleet owns, restores and operates historic steam ships, sailing ships and many smaller launches. Our current major project is the restoration to full ocean-going condition of John Oxley a former Moreton Bay pilot steamer, 760 tons. You, the volunteer will be a skilled welder and steel fabricator to aid in the final stages of hull restoration, particularly the forecastle. Your team leader is gentle giant whose welding surpasses marine standard for boiler work.

This bushcare group is supported by Lane Cove National Park and Macquarie University. It meets on the third Saturday morning of each month so our next date will be June 15. Work is along Mars Creek, a hidden gem of the Lane Cove National Park and involves removing weeds so that native plants will regenerate, improving the biodiversity of the park.
We are looking for a volunteer to walk with one of our clients (in a mobility scooter) to church once or twice a week in the middle of the day. Church is located a 5 minute walk from clients nursing home. . This will usually involve some time to also chat.

Crossroads Community Care Centre is a neighbourhood centre that provides a wide range of services to the community, including counselling for domestic violence and complex trauma, and assistance for people in financial or other forms of crisis. We require the services of volunteers to join our Management Committee. Positions available include President and Vice-President, as well as ordinary members.

Our four pillars of work include: prevention and early detection, supporting the community to live optimally with macular conditions, systemic advocacy and research. There are an estimated 1.4m Australians with some evidence of age-related macular degeneration, which is the most common macular disease.
