Are you ready to whip up some good in your community? The Cooinda Neighbourhood Centre is looking for volunteers who have some experience of working in a kitchen. This is a perfect role for people who love to create a sense of community and belonging while at the same time have a passion for providing quality service, food and coffee in a community atmosphere.
We are seeking a volunteer to join the fortnightly roster to assist in the kitchen and dining room before and during the evening, for the residents of the Vinnies Men’s Crisis Centre. A vacancy is available on a Tuesday afternoon/evening.

As the Volunteer Kitchen Team Leader, you will lead a team of kitchen volunteers in the: * planning * shopping * preparation * and serving of a community lunch each fortnight whilst adhering to safe food practices. You will also be able to demonstrate sustainability & environmental practices by composting kitchen waste.

The role consists of one full day per fortnight (Thurs) when a community lunch is prepared and served and alternate half days each fortnight (Thursday) for menu preparation and team meetings. Within this role you will be coordinate and manage the kitchen activities to facilitate Cafe 175. You will manage, monitor and participate in the preparation of meals & refreshments by * Assisting with the 12-week menu planning * Allocating food preparation and kitchen tasks * Creating schedules to ensure menu items are available by cafe opening times
Are you available on a Wednesday? Do you like the thought of helping out 'Front of House'? As the Cafe 175 Assistant Volunteer, you will be assisting the Kitchen Manager to provide meals to the customers. You will: * serve tea and coffee to customers in a timely manner * ensure supplies are maintained * follow safe food handling & storage directives * take and deliver customer orders * clear & clean tables after each setting * follow instructions
