Containers for Change is the 10c refund recycling scheme that has been introduced to Western Australia. The Care for Hedland depot receives eligible recyclables for the Hedland region, keeping them out of landfill. In this role you will be sorting and counting eligible drink containers and providing refunds to customers. The depot received both small and large returns of containers so extra hands to help sort, count and serve the community are always welcome.

Lisa’s Kangaroo Retreat rescues, rehabilitates and releases wildlife, including injured and orphaned joeys, kangaroos, wallabies, possums and other animals. The Kangaroo Retreat in Redbank, Western Australia, is home to dozens of animals and relies on community and volunteer support to aid each animal in completing their journey to health and success. Volunteers are needed to help with feeding of joeys via bottles, making kangaroo milk, cleaning and caring for joeys.

No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like. This position involves walking beaches at first light near Wickham and Cleaverville in the Pilbara, to monitor turtle nesting activity.
