Support a person with a disability to connect with the community and to engage in activities and groups that align with their interests, skills and/or abilities. Social Support Volunteers will receive training and ongoing support. We ask that volunteers commit to volunteer for 12 months or longer.
Our Technical Volunteer designs, makes or modifies aids and equipment for people with a disability or the frail aged when there is no commercial solution available. Volunteers undertake project work in their own homes and sheds using their own tools. Fortnightly Saturdays 1pm to 4pm in Secret Harbour. Our group assistants help young people on the Autism Spectrum with various social activities. Activities include arts, crafts, bowling, laser tag and more. This rewarding opportunity would suit those studying community services, social work, psychology etc
Spectrum Space will run our Telethon Holidays Makers Program these July school holidays for children on the autism spectrum. Activities include art and craft, video games, sensory play, board games, cooking and more! We are in need of people to help out with the kids and the activities. This opportunity would best suit students studying psychology, community services, counselling and social work.
