Help keep the grounds and surrounds of our Aged Care Facility looking good for the enjoyment of our residents and visitors. This role involves pruning shrubs, weeding, raking of leaves and watering. Want hands-on work that actually helps the environment? We grow local native (indigenous) plants from seed or cuttings for revegetation projects or local gardens. Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales. More indigenous plants in gardens and larger revegetation projects provide habitat for native animals, birds and insects, and reduce species loss. We rely on volunteers but lockdowns hit us hard. Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) is looking for long term volunteers to support Australians affected by breast cancer. BCNA's My Care Kit is for women who have recently had breast cancer surgery. Thanks to support from Berlei, BCNA supplies specially designed Berlei bras and soft forms to those women free of charge. We are seeking a handyperson to join our maintenance team. In particular we are looking for someone who will keep the front lawns mowed for our visitors and cafe patrons to enjoy. Looking for people interested in gardening to assist with maintenance and generation of a Bush Tucker garden. Cultivating edible plants indigenous to the wetlands. Must like working outdoors, in all seasons.

You'll be working outdoors in a beautiful setting: planting, weeding, pruning and mulching as well as other garden related activities. Days and hours are negotiable to suit your schedule. The role requires a current Criminal Record Check and would prefer a current Working with Children Check.
