This role would suit a volunteer who enjoys being active, where every day is different, the environment is vibrant & you return home with a smile on your face. The role is unique for those who enjoy being in a social atmosphere, being part of a team & the day is never dull. This role offers the opportunity to apply and build on your social, communication & language skills, your guest or customer service experiences & the potential to increase your social networks or employment potential.
Do you have one hour to spare in your week (or fortnight) to share in our passion for improving the quality of life of the elderly? You'd be providing companionship and social interaction for an older person living in their own home within Newcastle and Lake Macquarie districts. Your empathy for the elderly, reliability, caring nature and listening skills are needed for this role. Up to date Flu vaccination and current National Criminal Check are required.

As a volunteer, you'll be engaging with elderly residents who are living with dementia, serving wine and cheese tastings and creating a great atmosphere. You'll need to be 18 years or older and enjoy chatting with people.
