    The South Australian State Emergency Service (SASES) is a volunteer-based organisation that responds to a wide range of emergencies and rescues across the state. Primarily responsible for responding to extreme weather and flooding events, the SASES also responds to road crash, marine, swiftwater, vertical and confined space rescues. We are currently looking for volunteers in both Operational and Non Operational roles.

Working with tools and basic light machinery performing preventative maintenance, handling basic repairs, prepare walls and other surfaces for painting etc.

    National Railway Museum

    Must hold a Boiler Basic (BB) or Boiler Advanced (BA) Boiler certificate/qualification. Steam train firing/driving experience is desirable, but in-house training will be provided. Role involves driving the small steam trains (amusement devices) at the National Railway Museum and at the Semaphore and Fort Glanville Railway.

The boxes in which we release our wildlife / possums are made of 19mm pine to provide the best insulation during our hotter summers but are therefore 6.5kg plus wildlife weight (up to 2kg). Ladders and harnesses are used to ensure safety for our installation team and training in best practice WH&S is also provided.
