Community Nursery Assistants support the propagation of local provenance native plants for re-vegetation of the local environment within the City of Greater Geraldton. Many and varied tasks are available, depending on the time of season. Duties include seed collecting, seed sorting, decontaminating benches / pots, pricking plants and propagation. So far we have been able to create items such as plates, cups, bowls, plant pots, surfboard fins and wax combs but there is no limit to what can be created from discarded items.
Volunteers undertake various roles according to their abilities, interests and what they are comfortable with. Support members undertake non operational roles eg. welfare, communications and peer support.
