  1. Helping Raise Funds for Maddie Riewoldt's Vision

    Maddie's Shield #2 is an annual event to help raise funds for Maddie Riewoldt's Vision, to promote females in sport and to create a significant and sustainable community event. The event runs from 10.30am-6.00pm, and starts with a celebrity T20 between Nick Riewoldt's Footy Stars and David Hussey's Cricket Stars. This will be followed by the Premier Women's 1sts playing their T20 match (between Prahran Cricket Club and Box Hill Cricket Club).

This is a chance to be a part of the longest bat monitoring program in Australia, and to see our native microbats up close. Bats are measured, sexed, banded and health checked. Kidsflix is a program enabling children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and other disabilities to have an ‘out of the ordinary day’ with their families at the movies. In addition to the film screening, family entertainment includes costumed performers, face and hand painting, balloon twisting and other fun activities!

The event includes road rides, mountain biking, family ride and a walk or run around Lake Wendouree. There is also the event village on Lake Wendouree with music, children's activities and wildlife show, exhibitors and food. This is not possible without volunteers!
