These programs are designed to cater for people who may be experiencing dementia or memory loss.

ECH has Day Programs are held at Smithfield, Henley Beach, Happy Valley, and Walkerville each offering a range of activities such as gardening, arts and craft, billiards, cooking, music, dancing & gentle exercise programs.

ECH is looking for some 2 legged (human) volunteers to assist in their Day Programs together with their good natured & well trained pets to visit clients.

ECH Day Programs are designed to cater for people who may be experiencing dementia, or memory loss to engage in a range of social activities.

Dogs are popular but other pets are welcome too if they are healthy, confident with strangers, never timid & well mannered.

• Provide efficient service to clients with diverse backgrounds
• Experience in community services, banking, retail, or customer service
• Commit to volunteering 2 half days per week for 6+ months

• Assist clients with kindness, patience, and respect
• Process client shops, unload, sort, and restock deliveries
• National Police Check required; training provided by experienced staff

• Develop trusted friendships and support individuals with disabilities
• Utilize strength-based practices to help individuals speak up for themselves
• Volunteers must be 18+, compassionate, committed, and courageous

• Support day-to-day retail operations and customer service
• Engage in visual merchandising and sorting donated goods
• Flexible shifts, training, and support from Store Manager

• Guide members on outings to galleries, gardens, and sessions
• No experience needed, full training provided in sighted guide techniques
• Flexible scheduling, few hours a month commitment required
