Your main duties:

Maintain the BBCN Facebook page Update as necessary with information about the latest BBCN issue Respond to posts from readers Circulate a monthly report to Committee members Report to the monthly committee meeting

Reach out and connect with your local community! The role of Distribution Manager is voluntary and represents a key function for the paper. Main Duties: Maintain up to date list of Walkers and Deliverers, and numbers of papers required. Attend the delivery of the papers each month at The Basin Community Hall, Prepare distribution lists for Drivers Liaise with Walkers and arrange coverage for those absent. Report to monthly Committee Meeting.

Assisting the lifestyle team during activities and one to one time with the residents. Sitting with residents and providing comfort with conversation or reading.

• Assist socially isolated individuals in determining community activities
• Meet participants to identify needs, arrange access to desired programs
• Follow-up on engagement success, keep records of activities

• Connecting with seniors through shared gardening interest
• Activities include potting plants, flower pressing, garden photography
• Volunteer role focusing on companionship, not gardening tasks

• Provide companionship to older individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Support social inclusion and reduce risk of social isolation
• Participate in Volunteer Visitors Scheme with training and flexibility

• Support socially isolated older individuals in aged care settings
• Engage in companionship activities, language/skill teaching, and games
• Flexible volunteer hours, training provided, minimum 20 visits/year

• Organize and run activities for girls of various ages
• Training and mentoring provided; part of a supportive team
• Opportunities for further training in leadership, camping, first aid

• Assist in creating, editing, collating, and filing documents
• Attend monthly meetings to take notes and write minutes
• Volunteer role supporting mental health community gathering place

• Manage reception duties and provide professional customer service
• Experience with Microsoft Office products and database usage required
• Support office staff, handle EFTPOS payments, and assist with enrolment

Our Op Shop funds a very special mission. We provide emergency accommodation and support to those who literally have nowhere else to go. Our Community housing units are managed by our organisation. We receive no assistance from governments in the form of grants, loans, dwellings or funding but are completely funded by the Op Shop and your donations.
