St John Ambulance QLD is looking for volunteers for our Community Visitor Program where volunteers visit an elderly resident for an hour, once a fortnight in Pimpama. As a Community Visitor Volunteer, your visits may include a conversation, reading or sharing a simple activity together such as listening or playing music.
Taking your dog into your local school every week for approx 2 hours to help children read.
Playgroups provide opportunities for families to create social connections and learning opportunities. Child and Family Service on the Gold Coast, Early Years Centre provides educational and social support to families and their children. Volunteers support staff to facilitate groups and develop connections with families attending. If you enjoy working with children and families or looking to work in the field, this role could suit you!
Everyone is welcome to volunteer at parkrun events. We have heaps of fun, simple and rewarding opportunities to lend a hand for one to two hours on a Saturday morning at parkrun events across Australia. No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like. You can volunteer as a marshal, timekeeper, photographer or try your hand at scanning barcodes and handing out tokens…..to name a few of the roles we have available.
