Join us for a Sunday morning out at Prince of Wales Bay, where we'll be working to remove a significant weed (Boxthorn) along the foreshore. All participants over the age of 16 welcome. The West Moonah Community Action Group encompasses the West Moonah Neighbourhood House, Community Preschool, Community Garden and Community Shed and is part of the Tasmanian Neighbourhood Houses Network. The organisation is a not-for-profit Incorporated Association with ACNC charity status. The Association provides opportunities for community members to participate in education, information sharing, social activities, recreation, support and referral.

MDFA's Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming space for people living with aged-related macular degeneration to share their stories and ask questions of their peers. The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

With our ongoing redevelopments, it is sometimes intimidating for our visitors to find where they need to go within the hospital or to offsite outpatient clinic locations. Our Guiding Volunteers provide visitors with practical assistance helping alleviate those feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed helping them to get to their appointment on time or find a friend or relative.
