As a Social Support Volunteer you will visit a client in their own home to have a cuppa and a chat, go for a walk, read to or other support directed by coordinator. You may also assist a client with their shopping or do their shopping on their behalf, using your own vehicle. You may also be required to provide respite for a carer. It is a requirement that you are able to commit 4 hours a month.
To transport clients and their carers, to and from medical and social appointments. Driving involves local and long distance transport. Assisting clients in and out of vehicles, helping with seat belts, appropriate storage of bags and equipment. (C)
