Bus Outing Volunteers are required to accompany residents at Joseph Cooke House on outings to recreational activities.
Volunteers drive the bus for resident outings including, shopping, scenic trips and other outings - some regular (weekly/fortnightly) and some one-off. Drivers with a Heavy Vehicle licence are particularly needed, although our smaller buses can be driven with a normal car licence. Our buses are housed at various sites (primarily Shelley), which may not be the site the specific outing is for. Bus driver shifts include picking up and dropping off the bus after the outing.
Volunteer visitors are required for residents at Joseph Cooke House in Shelley, a residential aged care facility catering residents of various backgrounds. Many of our residents have limited or no contact with family and friends, and a volunteer visitor can greatly reduce social isolation and increase quality of life. Volunteers are matched with a specific resident and then visit regularly (minimum fortnightly).
Relaxed caring patient conversations that bring smiles while encouraging our residents to enjoy an activity lead by our Occupational Therapists. We have opportunities on weekdays and weekends to brighten and enrich our resident's lives at Joseph Cooke House by lending a hand to our residents so they enjoy activities of puzzles, games and music to their fullest. Many of our residents have limited or no contact with family and friends. Your care, will greatly increase well-being.
Companionship through conversations while walking or participating in games and quizzes - that's where we need help. Your bright and happy disposition will bring smiles to our residents who love to be involved in activities. Our residents have limited mobility, are often affected by dementia and have limited visits from family and friends. Your kind and caring conversations brighten their day and help residents enjoy the activities organised by our Occupational Therapist.

Gordon Lodge are seeking a bus driver to take residents from the aged care facility out for a drive once a fortnight.
If you are outgoing and friendly, enjoy meeting people and having a chat then the Activity Centre could be the place for you. If you enjoy playing Bingo, we’d love to hear from you. If you can speak Italian that would be a bonus but it is not essential!
Volunteer Tour Guides contribute to the interpretation of the aircraft and artefacts in the museum.
Museum Gift Shop Volunteers operate the unique shop at the Museum. They provide excellent service, greet visitors and operate the computerised cash register.
Volunteers come on any week day from 9.30am to 2 pm to help prepare and serve food for the school’s recess and lunch breaks. Duties include food prep, dishes, general cleaning and selling and restocking food and drinks. Closed in shoes and a current Working With Children card are required and we will supply aprons and headwear.
Fishability is a West Australian not for profit organisation who works with the community to promote fishing activities as a means of acceptance and inclusion with provision of inclusive and disability programs. We currently have jetty and boat activities throughout the Perth metro areas and regional centre programs in Mandurah, Busselton, Geraldton and Albany.
