The purpose of the Day Procedure Unit volunteer program at Modbury Hospital is to work in partnership with paid staff of the Department, to enhance the quality of the Day Procedure Experience for patients. This role also will incorporate the ward One East from time to time. This ward is mainly for patients who attend hospital for a day procedure but are required to stay in Hospital overnight.

Modbury Hospital Guide Volunteers are based at the Hospital's main entrance and assist patients and visitors with directions to their destination. Guide Volunteers positions suit someone who is interested in interacting with the public, able to deal with occasional stressful situations, and physically fit enough to stand and walk much of the shift. A Guide can be rostered Mon – Fri and shifts can vary from 4 hours to a full day. Training and induction are provided.
